Praise Lutheran Church Youth

The youth at Praise are a gift from the Lord. We rejoice in the opportunity to minister to them the Word of forgiveness from Jesus and all that it means for them as they grow in the wisdom and knowledge of the Lord.

Sunday School begins each Sunday at 9:45 a.m. for all children and students ages 2 and up. This time of faith offers age-appropriate teaching, Scripture engagement, and fellowship designed to help children grow in their understanding of God’s Word. Confirmed youth are encouraged to participate in the Congregational Bible Study led by Pastor Roberts, where they can continue to deepen their knowledge of Scripture alongside the broader church community.

Youth Catechesis is a year-round instructional ministry designed to ground youth in the teachings of Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions. Led by a Pastor Roberts, students study Luther’s Small Catechism in depth, learning the Ten Commandments, Apostles’ Creed, Lord’s Prayer, and the Sacraments. This instruction prepares youth for Confirmation and First Communion while also equipping them for a lifelong life of faith, worship, and service in Christ’s Church. The view the full class schedule, go to our Youth Catechesis Calendar.

Midweek Youth Group meets each Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m., beginning with Compline in the Sanctuary. This weekly gathering provides a meaningful midweek pause for prayer, reflection, and fellowship, offering youth a consistent space to grow in faith and community.

Campfirmation for youth ages 12 and up will be held at Camp Linn Haven in Avery County, North Carolina, offering a week of catechesis, worship, and fellowship with pastors and teachers in the beautiful North Carolina mountains. Youth and youth leaders from Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee will gather for a Christ-centered experience designed to strengthen faith and build connections across congregations and regions.

2026 Campfirmation will be held July 5–11 and will focus on the Apostles’ Creed with the theme “I believe in God the Holy Trinity.” Please contact our Office Administrator with your commitment and submit the Campfirmation 2026 Registration, Medical Authorization & Liability Release Form, along with the $115.00 payment, by June 1. The cost per camper includes lodging, meals, a t-shirt, and admission to Grandfather Mountain.
