Starting January 5th, Pastor Roberts is leading a new study at Praise on Sunday mornings entitled, “When was Jesus Born?” based on a new book by author Steven Ware, entitled, “When was Jesus Really Born?” The class looks at some of dating issues involved in the question and considers the various attempts of some great minds in human history who have endeavored to answer the question. Perhaps most interesting will be the evidence of the early Christians and the evidence which sheds doubt on a common held belief that Christians simply chose December 25 to cover the pagan festival of Saturnalia. Furthermore, the class looks at the question of what is time and God’s relationship to time. The civil calendar formation and it’s variants will be studied as well.
